Bison Demonstration Reserve

Bison show reserve with an area of 27.9 ha was established in 1937 and was initially a place for the restitution of the forest tarpan. Since the abandonment of work on the restitution of tarpans in this reserve and the creation of a pen for bisons in 1955, this reserve has been serving as a tourist facility.

In 1951, a new reserve was built, directly adjacent to the show one, with an area of 43.12 ha, which constitutes the base for a show reserve.

In the reserve, in conditions similar to natural ones, bisons, Polish tarpan horses, moose, deer, roe deer, wild boars, "żubroń" (a cross between bison and domestic cattle), wolves and lynx are exhibited. The show reserve is a significant tourist attraction and is also used for nature education for school children visiting Białowieża.

    in the period from October 16 to April 15: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
